T-shirt fabric

Every t-shirt starts with the right cotton.

Cotton isn't just cotton. The yarn count, the comb, the brush — every choice shifts the hand feel, the print fidelity, and the way the shirt sits on the body. Here's how we choose.

We run six distinct cotton fabrics on the t-shirt line, ranging from the most economical Open End to the brushed-face Supersoft that flagship brands reach for on repeat orders. Each one is on the shelf because it does something the others can't.

The cheapest end of the catalog is Open End — yarn spun directly from staple fibers, with a slightly rougher hand. It's the right pick for high-volume giveaways and event tees where price matters more than the touch. Semi Combed sits just above it: the cost is friendlier than full Combed, but the surface is already noticeably smoother.

Combed Cotton is where most brand work lives. The combing process removes the short fibers, leaving a cleaner knit that takes screen print sharply and holds shape through wash after wash. We stock 20s yarn for substantial premium tees and 30s for lighter, drapier summer fits — both 100% combed, just different gauges.

At the top sits Supersoft. It's combed cotton with a lightly brushed face that gives a peachskin hand feel — the kind of surface that quietly tells a customer this isn't a basic tee. It's the fabric we see most often in reorders. If you're not sure where to start, ask us for a swatch pack and we'll send you the full range to feel.
